What are Learner Referral Rewards?
As an Unacademy Plus/Iconic subscriber, you have the opportunity to refer your friends to us and win exciting rewards. Your friend will get a 10% discount on their total subscription cost when they subscribe to Unacademy using your referral code. Once your friend becomes an Unacademy Plus/Iconic subscriber, you will receive referral rewards and a free Plus subscription extension on your existing subscription (only Plus/Iconic).
Please note: Starting 1st June 2022, no referral points will be added for the new referrals made and the revised learner referral policy will be applicable.
What are the rewards I am eligible for if I make referrals from 1st June 2022, under the new referral policy?
Please find the below details of rewards applicable from 1st June 2022.
**Note that rewards will be applicable only if the subscription cost is Rs. 5,000 or more per successful referral made, and not on the total sum paid by more than one referee
*Rewards are only applicable on referrals made for 6 months or above subscription durations
*Rewards are only applicable for Plus and Iconic subscription referrals
*Please note that till 31st May 2022, learners will be eligible for rewards basis referral points
*The referrals made till 31st May 2022 will only be considered in calculating the referral points till May 2022, and will not be carried forward starting June 2022. Only referrals made starting June 2022 will be considered in the new learner referral policy
*Please note that you should have an active paid subscription to be eligible for rewards. Your subscription should not be a bonus subscription or a subscription to an expired goal. Also, learners who have a Lite subscription are not eligible for referral rewards
What subscription extensions do I get in addition to the referral rewards for referrals made from June 1st, 2022?
From 1st June 2022 onward, if your friend uses your referral code and subscribes for 6 months or above (Plus/Iconic subscription), you’ll get 1 month of Plus subscription extension on each successful referral.
Please note the following conditions for extension:
1. The extension reward will work only if your friend has subscribed to the same goal as yours, applicable only to Plus and Iconic subscribers
2. In the case of multiple goals, the extension will be applicable for the respective goal which your friend has purchased using your code
What will happen to my referral points after the implementation of the new referral policy, applicable from June 1st, 2022?
You will get the referral points for the referrals made till 31st May 2022. Starting June 2022, no points will be added for the new referrals made, and the new policy will be applicable.
The referrals made till 31st May 2022 will only be considered in calculating the referral points and will not be carried forward starting June 2022. Only referrals made starting June 2022 will be considered in the new policy.
What are the rewards I am eligible for referrals made till May 31st, 2022?
Please find below the slab-wise gifts you are entitled to base your referral points earned till May 31st, 2022.
Note: Gifts are only given once in the life cycle. For example, if you are at 4000 points in the current month, you’ll get all the gifts till Amazon Fire Stick once.
*Please note that starting 1st June 2022, the new learner referral policy will be applicable to all Plus/Iconic learners.
How many months/weeks of extension do I get in addition to the referral rewards for the referrals made till May 31st, 2022?
If your friend uses your referral code and subscribes for 6 months, you’ll get a 6-week Plus subscription extension on your existing subscription. Similarly, if your friend subscribes for 1 month, you’ll get a 1-week of free extension. If your friend takes a 12-month subscription, you’ll get a 12-week extension for free.
Please note the following conditions for extension:
1. The extension reward will work only if your friend has subscribed to the same goal as yours
2. Even if the goal for which you had referred your friend has expired, we would be giving you an extension on that expired subscription from the time your friend has signed up
3. If you buy another goal, which is different from the goal you have referred your friend to, the extension will still be on that goal that has already expired (assuming your friend signed up for that respective goal). For example, if you had previously bought a CBSE Class 9 subscription, and referred your friend to that goal, but changed your subscription to CBSE Class 10 once CBSE Class 9 expired, you will still be getting an extension on CBSE Class 9 goal if your friend proceeds with the subscription
4. In the case of multiple goals, the extension will be applicable for the respective goal, which your friend has purchased using your code
How would Unacademy know I have referred my friend?
We will know when your friend signs up using your referral code. To access your referral code, follow these steps:

1. Click on your Profile icon at the top-right corner of the page
2. Select Refer your friends

Please note that referral codes must be given directly by you to your friends. Referral codes are the property of Unacademy and cannot be displayed or shared on any public platform or a social media site using paid marketing and/or sponsored ads. Unacademy reserves the right to cancel any and all referral points where it finds evidence of such activity by a Learner.
How will I know whether the free extension has been provided or not?
Please note, as per the new referral policy effective from June 1st, 2022, the extension reward will work only if your friend has subscribed to the same Goal as yours with a subscription duration of 6 months or above.
To check the extension on the Unacademy app:
Tap on the Me tab at the bottom-right side of the app
At the top of the screen, you will find the subscribed goal along with its validity
To check the extension on the Unacademy web:
Click on your account at the top-right corner of the Unacademy home page
Then, click on the Settings option
Go to Subscriptions, and you will be able to see the validity of your subscribed Goal
What will my friend get if they use my referral code?
If your friend uses your referral code, then they will get a 10% discount on the subscription cost.
Do I also get referral rewards if my friend is an existing Plus/Iconic subscriber & extends their subscription?
No, the referral reward is only for New Plus/Iconic subscribers and is not applicable for renewals (your friend has to be a new subscriber to the platform).
Do I also get referral rewards and subscription extension if my friend buys a combo Plus/Iconic subscription or two separate subscriptions?
If your friend buys a Combo subscription, one of UPSC CSE - GS and one of UPSC CSE - Optional, and both subscriptions are of more than Rs. 5,000 and 6 months duration, you will be receiving a subscription extension and reward only once, for whichever Goal is bought first in the combo subscription as well as separately.
How many referrals can I make to get the rewards as per the new referral policy?
As per the new referral policy, you can refer as many friends as you want. However, the maximum number of times you can get rewarded (tangible rewards or subscription extension) is 10, i.e., you will be rewarded for the first 10 eligible referrals* made after May 31st, 2022.
*Eligible referrals should satisfy the below conditions:
- Your friend purchases the same Goal as yours
- The duration of the subscription bought by them is 6 months or more
- The subscription amount is Rs. 5,000 or more
- You will not get any rewards or extensions if your friend purchases subscriptions to international goals, i.e., USMLE and NCLEX
- You can win a Laptop and an Unacademy T-shirt only once in a lifetime
Will I get any reward if I refer friends with a total amount of less than Rs. 5,000, as per the new referral policy?
For you to receive referral rewards as per the new referral policy, your friend’s subscription duration should be at least 6 months. Please refer to the table below to understand better.
Will I get any reward on the referrals made with a subscription duration of less than 6 months?
No. Rewards will be provided only if the referee made a purchase of a Plus/Iconic subscription of the duration of 6 months or above.
Do my points expire? For how long can I retain my points?
You will only get referral points for the referrals made till 31st May 2022. Post 31st May 2022, there will be no addition to your accumulated points. However, you will be able to see the referral points in their app but will not be eligible for any rewards starting June 2022.
When will I get my referral rewards?
Referral rewards can take anywhere between 30-60 days to be dispatched from the time your friend signs up. We have a monthly referral cycle. For all the referrals made in a particular month, we dispatch the gifts by the end of the next month. Please note that any tax compliances on the points or vouchers shall be to your account.
For example: If your friend signed up on 1st June 2022 using your referral code, then the gifts will be dispatched by 30th July 2022. If your friend signed up using your referral code on 25th June 2022, then also your gift will be dispatched by 30th July 2022.
How do I receive the gift vouchers?
You will receive Amazon gift vouchers on your registered email either from email@example.com or from firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do check your spam folder as well, in case you do not find them in your primary inbox.
I have not received my Amazon gift voucher. What should I do?
In case you haven't received your Amazon gift voucher, we request you to reach out to the Unacademy Support Team and share a screenshot of your referral page, along with your registered email and contact number. Rest assured, we will promptly assist you in resolving your issue.
I have received a damaged/dysfunctional gift. What should I do?
If you receive any damaged or dysfunctional gift, you will have to bring this to our notice within 7 days of receiving the gift by reaching out to the Unacademy Support Team. Any complaints raised after 7 days regarding the functionality or condition of the gift will not be eligible to be acknowledged or considered by the Unacademy team.
Do I get a warranty card/bill with a physical reward?
As of now, we do not provide any warranty card or bill with the gift(s). We request you to please reach out to us over chat in case you face any issues with your gift(s). Warranties on the gifts/articles/services are the sole responsibility of the manufacturer or service provider without reference or liability to Unacademy.
Unacademy’s decision in relation to any interpretation or applicability of these terms and conditions shall be final and binding. Unacademy reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at its sole discretion without prior notice.
